The Triumph Trident 660 is a formidable contender in the middleweight class, praised for its punchy triple-cylinder engine and versatile chassis. But for the crew at Pound Custom in Taichung, Taiwan, the factory finish was merely a starting point. They envisioned a machine with a darker soul and a more premium, unified aesthetic. Stripping the bike back, they rebuilt it with a strict philosophy of visual cohesion, meticulously blending a black, gold, and carbon-fiber theme. The result, named "WHO'S ROCK," is a masterclass in focused refinement, turning a popular roadster into a tight, bespoke streetfighter.

Chapter 01

A Triple's Gilded Voice

At the heart of the build remains Triumph’s lively 660cc triple. Rather than chase outright power, Pound Custom focused on enhancing its character and auditory presence. The most significant change is a full Zard exhaust system, which has been blacked-out to integrate seamlessly with the bike’s dark aesthetic. This isn't just a simple pipe, however. It features a touch-activated electronic valve and a custom brass baffle, allowing the rider to modulate the sound on the fly—from a subtle burble to a full-throated roar. A factory quickshifter was also added, underscoring the bike's performance intent without upsetting the engine's proven reliability.

"The goal was total visual cohesion, where gold leaf, forged carbon, and blacked-out metal combine into a single, unified statement."

Chapter 02

Stopping Power and Stance

To back up its aggressive looks, the Trident’s braking system received a complete overhaul. The stock components were replaced with a high-performance Brembo package, featuring powerful 484 calipers up front. In the rear, a CNC-machined two-piston Brembo caliper is tucked away in a sleek underslung position. This top-tier hardware is mounted using custom-fabricated brackets from MAPD, a testament to the build's engineering detail. The system is plumbed with Galfer steel-braided lines for improved feel and consistency. Finishing the chassis upgrades are lightweight MAPD aluminum axles, a subtle but significant touch that reduces unsprung weight.

Chapter 03

Forged Carbon and Gold Leaf

The bike’s visual identity is defined by a deep, gloss black base, but the real story is in the details. The builder’s primary goal was to eliminate all the original silver finishes, and this was executed flawlessly. Footpegs, triple clamps, and fasteners were all blacked-out. Upon this canvas, two key textures were layered: forged carbon fiber and hand-applied gold leaf. The chaotic, marbled pattern of forged carbon now adorns the engine cases, radiator shrouds, and tank trim. Complementing this is intricate gold leaf vinyl, which flows across the tank and front fender. The final major piece is the Motodemic adaptive headlight, a more compact and technically advanced unit that gives the front end a modern, deliberate look.

This Trident 660 by Pound Custom isn’t a radical reimagining. It is, instead, a lesson in the power of thoughtful curation and execution. By focusing on enhancing the bike’s inherent strengths with carefully selected, high-quality components, the Taichung workshop has created a machine that feels both custom and complete. It’s a sophisticated build that respects the original platform while elevating it to a new level of aggression and style.
