Maximum Hybrid: A Supercharged Yamaha SMAX from Taiwan

The core of this build’s visual transformation is the clever integration of bodywork from other Yamaha models. The sharp, angular face of a Yamaha FORCE was seamlessly grafted onto the SMAX frame, immediately giving it a more aggressive presence. In the rear, the tail section from the king of maxi-scooters, the TMAX, was adapted, featuring a five-piece kit from Light Master. This combination creates a silhouette that is both familiar and entirely unique. A widebody kit from Kuang Factory further exaggerates the scooter's lines, giving it a muscular, planted look that the stock SMAX could only dream of.

Not content with a purely aesthetic exercise, FS-TMAX gave this scooter the heart of a true performance machine. Tucked into the frame is a supercharger, a modification that radically alters the 155cc engine's character. Managing the complexities of forced induction is an aRacer RC Super2 ECU, a sophisticated brain that ensures the engine runs optimally under boost. The soundtrack is provided by a stunning, custom-fabricated titanium header, with its intricate "donut" welds leading to a carbon-finished Akrapovič muffler. This isn't just for show; it's a powertrain built for serious response.

All that extra power would be useless without a chassis to handle it. The suspension has been thoroughly upgraded, starting with a set of beefy MSP UF2 inverted forks up front. The rear is controlled by Shark Factory X2 HL shocks, a high-end component that offers a huge range of adjustability. To increase stability and achieve a stretched stance, the rear wheel has been pushed back 17cm with a TDS extension kit. Stopping power is equally serious, with a Brembo 484 caliper on the front and a CNC P2 caliper on the rear, all actuated by master cylinders borrowed from a TMAX for a better feel at the lever.

A great build is defined by its details, and this SMAX is covered in them. Carbon fiber is used extensively, from the ONES front fender and backbone cover to the instrument surround and side strips. This is complemented by a host of jewel-like titanium hardware and accessories. Baphomet titanium frame plugs and footplates, an ONES titanium fuel cap, and Simota carbon mirrors with titanium arms all speak to a cost-no-object approach. Every bracket, cap, and fastener appears to have been considered, resulting in a cohesive and deeply impressive level of finish that rewards close inspection.
